WGI Certify Level 100 Percussion– The Basics
In this level you will develop a fundamental understanding of the role, ethics, and professional expectations of the judge, along with the judging process as a whole, and the basic skills required. The Basic tools for recognition, comparison and scoring will be introduced. You will practice observing differences and making comparisons, ranking and spreading. You will be introduced to the basics of each caption in the WGI System. A final examination will confirm your readiness for the next level of study.
WGI Certify Level 200 – Percussion-The WGI System
In Level 200, the focus will be on developing basic judging skills. You will develop a fundamental understanding of WGI’s caption-based philosophy, the role of the judge within that system, and the skills required to fulfill that role. You will be introduced to the building blocks upon which each caption is constructed, and will practice recognizing them. You will then be introduced to the content of each caption, criteria reference scales, basic expectations for commentary, and the methods for developing basic recognition and commentary skills. A final exam will confirm your understanding of the content of the course.

WGI Certify Level 200 – The WGI System- Color Guard

This course offers in-depth caption-specific training at the WGI A class level, and lays the conceptual foundation for the Open and World classes. Each student chooses only one caption track at a time. A circuit mentor will be a part of Level 300 beginning at Lesson 340 Circuit Practicum, Mentor Evaluation and Certification. Circuits will have the option of choosing an overall mentor for all captions or an individual mentor for each caption. Students will also have the option of completing Lesson 340 Practicum, Mentor Evaluation and Certification through a WGI Certify mentor for an additional fee.
